Market Report 1/19/09



Due to the sluggish economy, many seafood items are remaining stable with the exception of scarce items like #1 Tuna.


Inclement weather in the Northeast has caused a cease in Nantucket Bay Scallop Harvesting. Fisherman are unable to harvest these precious gems by law when the weather reaches below 28 degrees.

Market Report 1/12/2009



Normal fishing activity has resumed after the holiday season in the North Atlantic causing the availability of groundfish to increase and the price to decrease!


Southern Atlantic species such as Tuna, Swordfish, and Red Snapper are scarce this week resulting in significant price increases.


Keep your eyes out for some new products heading our way this week! In an effort to bring you the most responsibly produced seafood available, we will be extending our sustainable line to include Farm Raised Halibut from Gigha Island in Scotland and Fisherman's Daughter Shrimp, wild caught in the Gulf of Mexico!

Happy New Year!


Great news for tiger shrimp lovers... the market continues to fall resulting in very attractive pricing!


We will see an increase in the price of groundfish this week as they have been scarce due to inclement weather and minimal fishing during the holiday season.

Market Report 12/29/2008



The Maine Shrimp Fishery has been extended! These delectable fresh shrimp range between 70-90 shrimp per pound and are available on a pre-order basis only!


Swordfish and Tuna supplys remain steady, enjoy the slight dip in pricing this week!


For all those with a hankering for Halibut, we now have previously frozen whole Halibut and Fletch available! The frozen Halibut is cutting out beautifully and is a great option for holiday parties!


Due to inclement weather in the North Atlantic, there will be limited availability on groundfish and pricing will be high in the upcoming week.


Having trouble finding the perfect holiday gift? Lobster tails and shrimp are the perfect solution! Your friends and family are sure to enjoy these sweet, delightful treats and no one has to know how affordable they are!


Unfortunately, fresh Walleye season has come to an end until next April... Check out our fantastic frozen Walleye, out of Lake Erie waters!

Market Report 12/15/2008



Pumpkin Swordfish is in the house! These rare pumpkin colored beauties are thought to get their color from naturally occurring carotenes in the shellfish they consume. Treat your customers to these one of a kind markers for a meal they aren't likely to forget!


Check out our hog snapper this week! Coming out of Southern Atlantic waters, these gnarly toothed, snow white fleshed gems are so sweet and delicious they are often referred to as the "crabmeat of the snapper family"!

Ground fish will be in steady supply this week and thankfully, we will see a break in flat fish pricing.


Whole (Refreshed) Halibut and Fletch will be available mid-week! They are great winter menu substitutions for fresh Pacific Halibut, until the season re-opens in March!

Mahi Mahi landings continue to be strong out of the South Atlantic! Priced right, this tasty treat adds a little taste of the tropics during the cold winter months!

Market Report 12/8/2008



Groundfish, in particular Lemon Sole, are very scarce this week causing the price to rise considerably.


We will see a rise in tuna pricing this week (especially sushi grade) as there will be limited supply.


We are beginning to see a dramatic decrease in the price of frozen lobster tails, just in time to take advantage for your holiday parties!

USDA Panel Approves First Rules For Labeling Farmed Fish 'Organic'! For the first time, a federal advisory board has approved criteria that clear the way for farmed fish to be labeled "organic," a move that pleased aquaculture producers!


North Atlantic ground fish are in limited supply this week causing unfavorable prices.


Wild Striped Bass (aka Rockfish) supplies out of Maryland continue to be plentiful resulting in lowered prices!
