Market Report 3/16/2009
Check out these beauties! Kick off the start of Spring this week and run Parrot Fish as a special! It is sure to brighten up your plate presentation with their beautiful color and sweet delicious taste!
Countries in the South Atlantic have aligned to help protect the Grouper species. They have implemented a moratorium in which it is illegal to catch Grouper. Traditionally, this time of year, Grouper spawn. This moratorium allows the species to repopulate. The moratorium will be ending next week. We should begin to see Grouper at the end of the week or early the following week.
Tuna supplies and pricing continues to remain stable.
Thankfully, Gulf of Maine groundfish are beginning to decline in price due to a cease in North Atlantic storms.
